The 69,300 SF new school building includes a media center, a gymnasium, cafeteria, a kindergarten and a two story classroom building. The MPP engineer responsible for the design employed a variety of framing systems including a tension/compression ring for the media’s center vaulted roof with spandrels clear spanning 60 feet; long span exposed custom steel trusses with curved bottom chords for the gymnasium and cafeteria; various ornate structural features including a curved frame common entrance, skylights and pediments.
